Description: Brooch, unsigned, attributed early 1900 France. Absolutely incredible silver French paste sash pin dating to around 1900, Edwardian or Garland period. The large, tall lacy design is covered with layers of hundreds of hand set clear rhinestones, the layers are built up to form florets around the edge, encircling on large stone in the center of the brooch which tops three almond shaped layers of clear rhinestones. The back has extra wires to wrap around a sash or belt, so it doesn't flop forward, as it's quite large. Each rhinestone is individually hand set in bezel settings, and the layers are mounted by hand and held inplace with wired that hook through the back. Simple c-clasp. See lowest left for back view, middle left for close-up and side views, it's quite tall.
