Description: Lovely and unusual example of an Art Nouveau brass brooch using the common theme of plants and nature. The thick octagonal frame is etched with an abstract geometric pattern. Applied over the center, also in brass high relief, is an apple tree, complete with realistic leaves leaves and fruit. Simulated turquise oval glass cabochon stones are set at either side. Undoubtedly an artisan piece, unsigned from around 1900-1910. Old c-clasp. Not quite sash pin size, but it has that look. Dark areas on leaves are shadows, not tarnish or wear.
