Description: Victorian mid-1800's silver Scottish agate or Scottish pebble brooch. The oval brooch has a silver beaded edge, a raised cross motif with a deeply embossed design and a square gray agate stone in the center. Small round agates are in the corners of the cross; banded black alternating with rust in opposing corners. Locking c-clasp on the back may be a replacement, if so, very well done, there is no trace of earlier tube hinge and simple clasp you'd expect from this era, except for some darkened metal around hinge and clasp.
Size: 1 1/2" x 1 1/8"
Condition: Good, some spots of darkening and deep patina, some pitting on the back
