Description: Victorian silver over brass sash pin; a unique design featuring a huge violet faceted glass rectangular stone in the center with three curved cuts in the metal on either side of the stone, which resembles a spider. Applied calla lilies and ivy leaves are below the stone, a little silver is worn away do the brass underneath shows a bit. Interesting Victorian symbology; calla lilies represent purity or faithfulness, the ivy leaves represent love and marriage, and a spider for wisdom, plus the purple the purple, a very fashionable e color at the time.
